Services

We are blessed to be welcomed by our host church -- Westminster United Methodist Church, in Westminster, Maryland -- to hold services in their Chapel, and are very grateful for their kindness.

Westminster UMC is located at the corner of Main and Center Streets, Westminster (165 East Main Street); the Chapel entrance is downstairs from the main sanctuary and opens onto the Center Street parking lot.

Sunday Morning services are at 10:00 a.m. and consist of the following:

  • First and Third Sundays of the month: Morning Prayer with Holy Communion using presanctified elements.

  • Second and Fourth (and Fifth) Sundays: Morning Prayer with Sermon (and Litany during Advent and Lent).

Any additional services will be announced on our Facebook page and on this website.

Worship schedule for the rest of Lent, and Holy Week:

Sunday, March 13:

Fifth (Last) Sunday in Lent

  • 1:00 Gathering

  • 1:30 Morning Prayer with Sermon and Great Litany (Deacon Tom officiating)

  • 2:30 Social time

Sunday, March 20:

Palm Sunday (Passion Sunday)

  • 1:00 Gathering

  • 1:30 Holy Communion with Blessing of the Palms and Procession (Father Charles, guest Celebrant)

  • 2:30 Social time

Sunday, March 27:

Easter Sunday: Sunday of the Resurrection

  • 1:00 Gathering

  • 1:30 TBD – either Morning Prayer with Sermon and Communion from the Presanctified (Deacon Tom) or Holy Communion (Father Charles) – either way, there will be plenteous Alleluias! :-)

  • 2:30 Social Time

Note, for those interested: on 3/13 we will be using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer; on 3/20 we will be using a Eucharistic liturgy from the Anglican Church in North America, and on 3/27 (assuming we have Communion) we will be using Eucharistic Prayer D – a very celebratory prayer, based on the ancient and Eastern Orthodox Liturgy of St. Basil -- from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. We will probably stabilize on the 1979, possibly supplemented with the 1928 for Advent and Lent, but for now, we are celebrating our (comparative) liturgical freedom! ;-)

Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction

We are a community of Anglican Christians who are not part of The Episciopal Church (TEC, formerly ECUSA). We are currently in discussion with the Missionary Diocese of All Saints (MDAS), which is part of the Anglican Church in North America, and is also affiliated with Forward in Faith, North America. God willing, we hope that both our Deacon and our congregation may be received into that jurisdiction, and we welcome your prayers to that end!

Christian Education and Formation

At present, we do not have the facilities or membership to offer a regular Sunday School, but we are exploring options for offering Adult Chrisitan Education / Formation opportunities. And of course, as we continue to grow, Lord willing, further options will doubtless become available. Please stay tuned!

The Daily Office

Again, we do not currently have the facilities to be able to offer the Daily Office of Morning and Evening Prayer on a regular basis. But again, stay tuned! God willing, it will happen...
